Welcome! I bid good evening to all,
Thank you for coming, filling this hall,
May the proceedings commence;
Delegates of this new Republic,
Now make your views and stances public,
May logic reign – words intense!
The Founding Fathers rant, rave, debate,
Forging a way; peoples’ heart relate.
Men with souls like towers;
Morals strong and uncanny wits,
Brilliance shines through words of peace and fits,
Bickering goes on for hours.
A Rep wants tax seventy percent,
Founders laugh, but he does not relent,
Rep on the floor named Bernie;
Hamilton, Jefferson – unison!
Enacting judgment upon this sin,
No need for an attorney!
They come down upon him, full fury,
Worse than George! They are judge and jury!
My, how far we have fallen…
Abandoning our way and our roots,
Again let’s march for truth; lace up boots,
Repent! The past is callin’!
This is a great poem. Love the fact that it rhymes too. I can picture it being recited with a myriad of emotions.
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you like it.
I like both picture and the poem❤️
Thank you ilonapulianauskaite!
